Deacons
Our Board of Deacons are engaged in a ministry of outreach: The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. It is a ministry of caring, love, compassion, prayer, and community service
Deacons are members of our congregation to whom the Session has delegated the task of reaching out to the sick, the needy, the hungry, and the lonely. Our Deacons carry out their ministry in many wonderful ways, including: sending care packages to our college students and those serving in the military, visiting those who are ill or homebound, organizing meals for those who have a need because of illness, providing rides to and from Sunday worship, and reaching out to those who need prayer and help.
Deacons are elected by the congregation; each Deacon serves a three-year term. We have 15 Deacons serving in three classes. The Board of Deacons meets monthly.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry, is a ministry which equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those in our congregation who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances.
Stephen Ministers are committed Christians who receive 60 hours of initial training in caring ministry skills and concepts; who visit another person regularly and dependably and offer support and care; who participate in regular support and supervision; and who receive continuing education and skill building throughout their years of service.
Everyone goes through difficult times. Having a Stephen Minister to care, to listen, and to remind you of God's love can help you get through times of confusion, stress, or loneliness. For more information, you may contact our Stephen Leaders: Kathy Massie or Gene Barndt, or our Pastor.

The Manassas Presbyterian Church family is here to assist you in planning a service that recognizes the loss of a loved one and expresses thanksgiving to God in celebration of his or her life.
