Dr. Patricia J. McKee joined MPC on Sept. 1, 2019 as Director of Chistian Formation Ministries.
Patricia began working as an educator with churches in 2002 upon completing her graduate degree in Theological Studies at Candler School of Theology, Emory University. She has directed adult educational programs, led interfaith initiatives, designed and directed religion-and-the-arts events, led confirmation classes, taught Sunday school, delivered weekly children's sermons, and preached.
While completing her PhD in 2015 at the Graduate Theologica Union in Berkeley, Patricia staged St. Hildegard of Bingen's medieval operetta, Ordo Virtutum, at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Los Angeles. Since 2016, Patricia has served as full-time Lecturer and Program Coordinator in Comparative Religions at Northern Arizona University, teaching courses like World Religions, Christianity, Arts and the Sacred, and Religion and Drama.
She is a published scholar with expertise in the history of Christianity, especially in relation to the Reformation era and the church's competitive relationship with popular culture phenomena like the emerging professional theater.
Patricia is also a professional stage director and actor. She recently relocated to Northern Virginia from Flagstaff, AZ, with her husband and dog, Simone.
